FAQs for Clients

Why do companies use you for recruitment?
Companies come to us to find great talent and to save time and money.
We have resources that very few, if any, hiring companies have. We have our own databases of localization talent built up over several years and subscriptions to global commercial CV databases. Our dedicated researchers and recruiters will reach out in a myriad of ways to find the required experts. After we have assessed and interviewed all the candidates,  we aim to put forward 3 to 5 really good candidates.
Compared with other recruitment agencies, our services are global and targeted to the localization and translation industry.

We have an excellent reputation with clients and candidates. We are ethical and respect the need for confidentiality in everything we do.

How do you charge?
This depends on the type of position. For most jobs we charge a percentage of year one salary, which will be invoiced when our candidate starts.

For executive search for senior level positions, we charge one third when we start, one third when we have presented the agreed number of suitable candidates and one third when the chosen candidate signs the contract. For some jobs we agree on a flat rate, usually because we have a cut-off point for when a recruitment job stops being profitable. We never charge candidates.

What kind of positions do you fill?
We fill any types of positions, usually permanent or on longer term or renewable contracts. These range from industry-specialist translators, project managers, software engineers and testers, sales people, vendor managers and senior-level positions such as country managers, general managers, directors and C-level positions.

What kind of companies do you work for?
We work for small, medium-sized and large companies, on the vendor/supplier side and the client/buyer side. Our clients are all over the world
. See our testimonials.

How do you find the candidates?
Our biggest asset is our internal databases of candidates that we have collected over several years and which are constantly added to and kept up to date. When a new job comes in, our first step is to send anonymized details of it to candidates who have registered that they are looking for such a position in that location. In addition to that, our recruitment researchers search global CV boards and advertise on various industry-specific sites and use internet networking sites. We also get candidates by word of mouth.

Do you do headhunting?
No, we never target people at specific companies or contact them cold. We work with many different companies and we would be out of business if we go after their people after we have recruited for them. We will reach out to people in every way possible, but we only approach people who have indicated that they are looking for career opportunities. Headhunters typically only work for a few companies, and we aim to provide a service to everyone.

What do you need to know about our vacancy and our company?
We will need a good job description outlining tasks, responsibilities, qualifications and experience needed, plus the salary range. We have generic job descriptions that we can send you if you don’t have one. We also need to understand the company and its culture well, so that we can find a good personality match.

What do you need from us to get started?
We will first agree on Terms & Conditions and will send ours across to you. Once we have the job description, we will discuss it in detail with you to make sure we understand what kind of candidates would be ideal. We will advise on salary levels and structures when required. We will discuss the recruitment process, including
•    How long the hiring process is likely to take.
•    Who we shall send the CVs to.
•    Who will be involved in interviews and where they will take place.
•    If there will be test pieces, work sampling or psychometric test and how to organize these.
•    If candidates will be reimbursed for interview travelling costs (typically our clients cover long-distance travelling costs, but not local ones)

FAQs for Candidates

Why should I register?
We have an up-to-date picture of which companies are looking to hire and where the best opportunities are likely to be. Which means that if we have your details, we can send you information about where the hot jobs are, and you therefore have an increased chance of success. Using our services means that you can be sure of your CV getting to the right people in the companies that are right for you.

Do I have to pay a fee to register?
No, our service to our candidates is completely free of charge.

What happens after I register?
After you register, you will start receiving regular notifications from us with all the relevant job openings that match your profile. We will treat your details with the utmost confidentiality and never pass them on to any third party without your specific agreement. Should your circumstances change, you can always update your profile online using your login details. If you are no longer looking for a job, just let us know and we will deactivate your account.

What happens after I apply for a job?
After you have applied for a vacancy online, the recruiter in charge will assess your suitability for that role based on your CV and inform you if you have been shortlisted for the next stage. Then he/she will arrange for a personal or telephone interview during which you will discuss your credentials, the company and the vacancy in greater detail. Based on the outcome of this interview, the recruiter will forward your details to the employer, together with a presentation letter describing your skills and suitability for the role. The recruiter will communicate the employer’s feedback to you and coordinate all further interview arrangements between you and the hiring company.

How can I apply for a work permit?
Generally speaking, our clients are not able to sponsor applications for a work permit/visa unless there is a proven shortage for a particular area of expertise in the country. When there are exceptions, we will include that in the job postings. For information on how you can obtain the right to work legally in any of the countries we recruit for, we suggest that you contact the local embassy of the country you wish to work in.

What should my CV look like?
While there is no international consensus as to what a perfect CV should look like, this
sample CV gives you a good starting point.

How should I prepare for an interview?
There are two general rules: know yourself and know the employer.

Before attending the interview make a list of your strengths, weaknesses, skills and career goals. Establish what you have to offer and have examples, scenarios and accomplishments prepared because you are likely to be asked situational questions.

Make sure you research the organization and the position well. Know why you want to relocate to that town/country. Ask for a complete job description to help you understand the position better. Write down questions to ask about the role and the company during the interview.
